Our Programs
JLMS partners with schools to deliver customized music programs during the school day or after school. Our instruction is structured, engaging, and developmentally aligned—supporting academic success, social development, cultural awareness, and confidence. Programs can be adapted for general education, enrichment, and SDC classrooms so every student can participate meaningfully and grow.
Right now, our programming is focused on serving our current partner sites while we grow capacity.

M.E.E.P
Music Exploration Experience Program
The Music Exploration Experience Program (M.E.E.P.) is our ongoing, scaffolded approach to music instruction across grade levels. Students build skills over time through consistent, developmentally aligned lessons that grow musical literacy, confidence, coordination, and teamwork. M.E.E.P. can also be adapted for SDC classes, providing accessible pathways for participation and success.
Typical focus by grade level:
-
TK/K: singing + gestures, vocal confidence, steady beat, and classroom routines through music
-
1st–2nd: focus, coordination, and rhythm skills using handbells, boomwhackers, and rhythm instruments
-
3rd–5th: soprano recorder for breath control, finger coordination, rhythm, and music-reading foundations

Show Choir Program
A high-energy mix of singing, choreography, and fun rhythm instruments—rhythm band instruments, boomwhackers, and handbells—exploring diverse musical and cultural genres while building confidence, teamwork, coordination, and expressive performance.
Suggested Grades: 2nd - 5th (varies by site)

Strings & Violin Program
Beginning strings instruction that builds technique, musicianship, and confidence through consistent practice, ensemble collaboration, and performance experiences.
Suggested Grades: 3rd - 5th (varies by site)

Summer Enrichment Music Program
JLMS offers a Summer Enrichment Music Program that blends creativity and skill-building through engaging, age-appropriate instruction.
-
K–3rd: Show Choir + Boomwhackers (singing, movement, and fun rhythm instruments)
-
3rd–5th: Strings (hands-on introductory -- beginning violin experience)
The program often concludes with a celebratory student showcase for families and the school community.
